To validate the appropriateness and clarity of each item on the instrument for measuring social exclusion, numerous experts have been asked to participate. They are experts in criminal law and/or criminology from 18 countries in the Western developed world, encompassing the geographic areas of Central Europe, Eastern Europe, Northern Europe, Southern Europe and English-speaking countries in and out of Europe.
